Online career training courses, Gatlin Education Services on the rise

FORT WORTH, Texas – If convenience is at a premium and time equals money, then it’s a safe bet that online career instruction will continue to grow in popularity. At the forefront of the burgeoning e-learning industry is Gatlin Education Services, the world’s largest provider of Web-based, instructor-supported workforce development training to community colleges and universities.

Distance education is quickly becoming the preferred educational tool of employers and the workforce, as evidenced by Gatlin’s enrollment figures with partner institutions increasing by 100 percent in the last year.

There are several contributing factors in this trend, including the continual rise of gas prices, the acceptance of online instruction as a viable educational option, the convenience of self-paced courses and school budget cuts that eliminate the on-campus versions of online career training courses.

“Between juggling a job, a home, a family and a social life, attending an on-campus class can become almost impossible,” said Stephen Gatlin, founder of Gatlin Education Services. “With online career training, you will have the ability to pick the kids up from school, cook dinner, take the course from your laptop computer, and still catch your favorite TV show without feeling like you just ran a marathon. It’s the way of the future, and Gatlin will continue to be an innovator and leader in the industry.”

Gatlin’s online career training and continuing education courses are designed to provide the workforce with the necessary skills to attain and advance in professional positions in many high-interest occupations. Students will gain valuable insight that will prepare them for a license, including terms, codes and statutes of the legal system, surveillance techniques, conducting a missing persons search, client and witness interviews, testifying in court and more.

“The private investigation course will open doors for students who want to get into the business as well as complement the skills of professionals in related industries,” said Stephen Gatlin, founder of Fort Worth-based Gatlin Education Services. “Because the field is littered with qualified professionals, competition is fierce in the field of private investigation.”

There are ample opportunities for individuals seeking entry-level jobs, and the industry’s employment rate is expected to grow faster than the national average through the next eight years, according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The course will be instructed by the staff of RGS Specialists, a professional education developer in private investigation. The company solely employs licensed private investigators.

Gatlin Education Services partners with association of pharmaceutical sales reps to present valuable course

FORT WORTH, Texas – Gatlin Education Services is helping to meet the demand for educated pharmaceutical sales representatives through an online career training program offered in partnership with the National Association of Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives® (NAPSR). The 120-hour Certified National Pharmaceutical Representative (CNPR) course is offered exclusively through Gatlin’s partnership with major colleges and universities.

Developed in response to a rising demand for certified pharmaceutical sales representatives, the nationally recognized online certification and CNPR sales training program provides individuals with the tools to gain entry-level jobs in the industry. Upon registering for the course, students automatically gain membership with NAPSR® and become eligible to sit for the CNPR national certification exam at no additional cost.

“There is a great demand for pharmaceutical sales reps, which means there is an equal need for solid training devices,” said Stephen Gatlin, founder of Fort Worth-based Gatlin Education Services. “In short order, this program will become one of our most popular offerings. Pharmaceutical sales can be a very rewarding career, and the first step toward realizing that is completing our course.”

Even if students lack a formal pharmacology and medical education, the program can ready them for a long and successful career by imparting information regarding general medical terminology, clinical pharmacology, managed care, drug sampling rules, effective selling techniques and more.
Upon completing the course, students will have gained a comprehensive understanding of the industry, including the role of the FDA, drug products and developments, and how to make an effective sales pitch. Students will also be prepared to take the CNPR certification exam.

“The field is adding 9,000 new jobs this year, and obviously they can’t all be filled by experienced reps,” said NAPSR® Education Manager Brad Sullivan. “Companies will not only be looking to hire professionals who can sell and motivate physicians to buy their brand, but also for someone who can speak intelligently about the health industry and its products. Gatlin’s program is a great avenue to gain the knowledge of clinical pharmacology and medical terminology that is essential to success.”

Established in 1989 by Stephen Gatlin, Gatlin Education Services is the largest provider of Web-based, instructor-supported training to community colleges and universities. Gatlin’s courses are open enrollment, allowing interested students to start their desired training immediately. NAPSR® was initiated to educate, train, create standards and provide current information for professional pharmaceutical sales representatives as well as for individuals who want to gain entry into the industry.

Gatlin Education's partnership with professional bookkeepers gives students an inside track at certification

FORT WORTH, Texas – The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) administers a stringent four-part exam in order to certify bookkeepers who meet high national standards. With the intent of helping bookkeepers pass the institute’s exclusive certification exam and advance their careers, Gatlin Education Services partnered with the AIPB and created an online professional training course, the Certified Bookkeeper Program.

In three years, approximately 150 students have enrolled in the 80-hour course, which is offered solely through Gatlin’s partnership with major colleges and universities. Earning the bookkeeping certification can increase earning potential, enhance professional reputation and give job seekers a sizeable edge in a competitive market.

“The demand for bookkeepers is increasing, and professionals who have obtained a certification will have the best opportunities,” said Stephen Gatlin, founder of Fort Worth-based Gatlin Education Services. “Earning a certification is no easy task, however, which is why our online course is so beneficial. It truly puts students in a better position to succeed.”

According to a 2005 survey of certified bookkeepers conducted by the AIPB, 97 percent of respondents recommended attaining certification, more than half used the certification to obtain new clients and reported a salary increase following certification, 41 percent received a promotion or new job because they were certified, and about a third raised their client rates or were given higher-level responsibilities as a result of becoming certified.

The online career training course was authored and is instructed by Wade Lindenberger, a Certified Public Accountant with more than 20 years of financial, accounting and management experience.

“I believe this course is a big help to bookkeepers who might otherwise struggle with the certification exam,” said Lindenberger. “It prepares you to pass a very rigorous exam on your first attempt, sharpens your skills, keeps you current on industry trends and introduces you to timely topics and issues such as fraud prevention. Additionally, the course is structured to move you through it quickly, so you can really learn to maximize your efficiency.”

The self-paced course is divided into six distinct subject areas: adjusting entries, correction of accounting errors including bank reconciliation, book and tax depreciation, basic payroll, merchandise inventory and internal controls and fraud prevention. Upon completing the course, students will have gained a broad understanding of the industry, including the benefits and requirements of certified bookkeeping and how to apply accounting concepts and principals to several key operations.

Established in 1989 by Stephen Gatlin, Gatlin Education Services is the largest provider of Web-based, instructor-supported training to community colleges and universities. Gatlin’s courses are open enrollment, allowing interested students to start their desired training immediately. Gatlin’s online career training courses are designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional caliber positions for many in-demand occupations.

Founded in 1987 as the bookkeeping profession’s national association, the AIPB strives to achieve recognition of bookkeepers as accounting professionals, keep bookkeepers up to date on changes in bookkeeping, accounting and tax, answer bookkeepers’ everyday bookkeeping and accounting questions, and certify bookkeepers who meet national standards. The association currently has approximately 30,000 members.
